Psychiatric Assessment and Reports for TPD Claims
Independent Psychiatric Reports for Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) Claims
Meta Psychiatry provides professional psychiatric assessments and written reports to support Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims involving mental health conditions. Our reports are designed to meet the requirements of superannuation funds, insurance providers and legal professionals, with a focus on clarity, clinical accuracy and timeliness.
Mental Illness and TPD Eligibility
TPD claims may be submitted when a person is permanently unable to return to work due to physical or mental health reasons. Psychiatric illnesses such as severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder or psychotic disorders can qualify for TPD if they significantly affect a person’s ability to function and maintain employment.
Our psychiatrists assess the nature and severity of your mental health condition, its impact on daily life and work capacity, and the likelihood of recovery. The report will provide an expert opinion on whether the client meets the medical criteria for permanent incapacity under the terms of their superannuation policy.
We support self-represented applicants, lawyers, insurers and financial advisors involved in TPD-related claims.

What Our TPD Reports Include
Every assessment begins with a structured clinical interview, review of medical documentation, and evaluation of functional status. Our psychiatrists prepare a detailed report that includes:
• Psychiatric diagnosis
• Treatment history and current status
• Commentary on prognosis and future capacity
• Functional limitations affecting work and self-care
• Medical opinion on total and permanent incapacity
We ensure that reports meet the documentation requirements of major super funds and insurers across Queensland. Assessments can be completed at our Springwood clinic or remotely via secure telehealth. We also liaise with referring parties to ensure efficient coordination and submission

Innovative Treatments: Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
Meta Psychiatry is proud to offer Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) as part of our treatment options. rTMS is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, offering relief for individuals experiencing major depressive disorders. This therapy is particularly beneficial for patients who have not responded to traditional treatments.
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is an effective treatment for major depressive disorders. It involves the focal application of a localised, pulsed magnetic field to the brain inducing small electrical currents which stimulate nerve cells.
